Experience |
Students who get involved with the CubeSat project will be introduced to the
process of constructive designing and interdisciplinary group work. But
most of all, CubeSat gives students an opportunity to have hands-on experience
on a real spacecraft, a chance many students did not have in the past.
The administrative structure of the group is simple. On the top, there
is a student held CubeSat project manager. This position is
responsible for organizing all meetings and facilitates communication through
out the whole team. Below the CubeSat project manager, is the subsystem team
leads. These individuals are responsible completing semester tasks in that
particular area. The subsystem team lead delegates pieces of these tasks
to the team members of their subsystem, to contribute to the whole
project. When entering CubeSat, persons are introduced the project and
trained in certain areas, getting a broad base of understanding of the project
at the same time. After a semester or more, individuals request subsystem
team leader positions and then later on, to CubeSat team lead, if pursued.
